Adventures in Diving $80 for the manual, then $75* per dive, and $55 for your cert card.

Pre-requisites: PADI Open Water or equivalent

We strongly encourage all new divers to go on to complete an Advanced Open Water course as it greatly increases your skills and confidence and helps open up a wider range of diving opportunities. However, if doing it all in one weekend is too much, you can do it at your own pace - one dive at a time. To get your Advanced Open Water certification you need to do a total of five adventure dives including Deep and Navigation. The other three are completely up to you! Or, by simply completing any three adventure dives you can gain your Adventure Diver certification, which can be upgraded at any time to Advanced by completing the remaining dives required. Some adventure dives you can choose to do include:

  • wreck
  • peak performance buoyancy
  • night
  • underwater naturalist
  • boat diver
  • underwater photography
  • diver propulsion vehicle
  • search and recovery
  • multilevel and computer diving
  • AWARE - fish identification
  • drift diving

With the Adventures in Diving program, you pay $80 for the theory manual, then $75* per dive, which includes instructor fees and hire equipment, and then $55 for each PADI certification card. *Any dives requiring the boat - Deep, Wreck, Boat, Drift - will incur a surcharge ($99 for a double and $55 for a single). You can earn the Adventure Diver certification after completing 3 Adventure dives, and then you can earn the Advanced Open Water certification after completing Deep and Navigation. Even if you decide not to complete your advanced, there is no reason not to do some adventure dives to try new areas of diving and improve your skills.

Please note: you will need a compass for the navigation dive and your own torch for doing the night dive.

Don't have a lot of time?

You can now complete the theory portion of your open water course through PADI's eLearning! Find out more about eLearning.
