What is Included in this group class?

  • ALL Necessary Dive Equipment Supplied for you to use during the course (No extra costs)

    • Some people are more comfortable in their own personal equipment, so if you would like to purchase some of your own personal items all participants will receive a discount voucher (10% off RRP) to use on any equipment purchased up to 2 weeks after your course (*No further discount, not transferrable, not extendable).
  • Genuine PADI Open Water Diver certification at the completion of all necessary course components and skills
  • Experienced PADI Instructor and Divemaster Team to teach your course
  • Small Classes, 4 students max
  • Course Homework Materials – we prefer teaching with books as it gives you more time with the Instructor, however e-learning is available on request if you prefer
  • Classroom session (1 evening)
  • 5-6 Hour Pool Session (1 Day)
  • 4 Shore Dives (2 Days)
  • This is a Non-flexible course – participants must be available for all of the sessions in one of our scheduled Open Water Courses, all completed within 2 weeks.

 

ELEVATE YOUR EXPERIENCE with an additional day of diving (2 Boat Dives) with one of our experienced PADI Professionals as your guide (including equipment) for only $100 extra when purchased within 2 weeks of completing your course (RRP value $345), or FREE if you spend $1000 or more on equipment purchases before or within 2 weeks of completing your course! (Available to upgrade in-store).

 

A typical course schedule is as follows:

  1. Course enrolment, paperwork, and equipment fitting completed during our regular shop opening hours, completed prior to the first class session (approx 45 minutes required in-store)
  2. Homework – 12-15 hours – Learn the theory about diving with the homework book and videos, to be completed in your own time prior to the first class session.
  3. Class Review session Thursday evening, 5.45pm – 9.30pm (see calendar for available start dates)
  4. All day Saturday pool session
  5. All day Sunday (backup day – please keep available in case of inclement weather)
  6. All day Saturday sea session (2 shore dives)
  7. All day Sunday sea session (2 shore dives)

 

Some course conditions to apply:

  • Participants must be medically fit to dive, and demonstrate the ability to swim non-stop for 200m and tread water or float for 10 minutes.
  • A full dive medical may be required depending on participant’s age and medical questionnaire answers.
  • Minimum age to Learn to Dive in our Budget Group Course is 14. (For younger participants please contact Underwater Sports to discuss before purchasing (Ph 08 82633337).
  • Transport is not provided, and participants will need to transport their own dive equipment during the course.
  • Participants must be available for all course sessions
  • At least 7 days notice is required prior to the course starting date to make any changes.
  • Certification will be earnt once all course requirements are met.
  • Refunds are not available if you change your mind.

 

For a more private course experience, if you are not confident in the water, or if you can’t fit into our 2-weekend schedule, you may like to upgrade to a Flexible or Private Course option.
