Become a Debris Activist with the PADI AWARE DIVE AGAINST DEBRIS® SPECIALTY
Underwater Sports will donate $20 from each student course fee to the PADI AWARE Foundation.
During this course, you will learn:
- About marine debris, the damage done, what it is, where it comes from and how divers are part of the solution.
- How to establish a Dive Against Debris® survey, the survey
frequency, sites, profiles and equipment. Also the use of
photography and knowing what to leave behind.
- How to make your survey count. The five easy steps to report
the debris you’ve removed to maximize each survey’s benefits.
- How to join the global PADI AWARE movement of scuba
divers protecting our ocean planet.
During the course, you will complete some e-learning theory, followed on-site briefings and a Dive Against Debris® survey dive. You will weigh, sort, record, dispose of and report your marine debris to PADI AWARE.
This PADI specialty course is available for all Open Water divers over the age of 12, and it will count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
This course includes free airfills. Does not include equipment hire.
Each diver will need gloves, cutting tool or knife and a catch bag or mesh bag, and SMB. A torch and pointer stick are also recommended. Discounts are available in-store when you purchase your required equipment.
All divers must complete some medical questions before participating.
