Pre-requisites: PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent, plus First Aid & CPR training within the last 24 months

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. Knowing what problems can occur makes you a much more aware and capable diver, and gives you the knowledge to prevent problems from occurring. However, if the worst does happen, as a Rescue diver, you’ll be equipped to handle it. During the Rescue diver course, you’ll cover:

  • Self-rescue and diver stress
  • dive first aid
  • emergency management and equipment
  • swimming and non-swimming assists
  • panicked diver response
  • underwater problems
  • missing diver procedures
  • surfacing the unconscious diver
  • inwater artificial respiration
  • egress (exits)
  • first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
  • dive accident scenarios

Rescue diver qualification is highly regarded and is required if you wish to become a Master Scuba Diver (the highest level in recreational diving) or if you wish to go pro and take the Divemaster-Instructor path. However, even if you are doing it just for yourself, Rescue Diver training gives you invaluable skills and knowledge. Even many very experienced divers will say it is the most rewarding course they’ve done!

Includes homework, theory review session, confined water training, and open water training scenarios (may be shore or boat based depending on conditions). Does not include equipment hire.
